Season 2 Combat Changes

The Season 2 damage, armour and suppression rebalance.

Season 2 rebalanced combat. The headline is a calibre damage pass: the big rounds were doing near-sniper damage in faster-firing weapons, so their base damage was cut. This affects every weapon using these rounds, infantry and vehicle alike.

Calibre base damage cuts

  • .308 Winchester down 25 percent
  • 7.62x54mmR down 20 percent
  • 7.62x39mm down 19 percent
  • .50 Cal down 16 percent

Other changes

  • Armor: Level 3 damage reduction 55 to 50 percent, Level 4 65 to 60 percent.
  • Assault rifle body shots are slightly weaker, and LMG body damage now matches assault rifles.
  • DMRs sit between assault rifles and snipers; snipers kept their big single-shot role.
  • Suppression was rebuilt to feel consistent, with stronger near-miss suppression from small and medium calibres. Level 3 helmets cut suppression 68 percent, Level 4 by 80 percent.
  • Vehicle miniguns that fire these rounds, such as the Little Bird, Lakota and Humvee Minigun, were cut too.

Expect longer time-to-kill across the board. See the weapons guide.

Armour prices and unlocks

The tougher armour got dearer and later: Level 3 Armour $2,000 to $2,500, Level 3 Helmet $1,500 to $2,000, Level 4 Armour $4,000 to $5,000, Level 4 Helmet $3,000 to $4,500. Level 3 gear now unlocks at Wardog Level 70 (was 60).

Faster progression

The role tracks were cut across the board, steepest in the middle: Level 20 now needs 111,500 XP (was 250,000, a 55 percent cut), Level 50 needs 1.15M (was 1.5M). You level faster in Season 2.
