WARDOGS Artillery Guide: The SPH-2 and Standoff Fire
The SPH-2 self-propelled artillery lets you hammer fortified positions and enemy FOBs from safety. Here is how and when.
The SPH-2 is self-propelled artillery, built to hit fortified positions and enemy FOBs from a distance you can survive. It is a late unlock, tied to your overall Wardog Level around Career 90, so it is a reward for the long grind.
What it is for
Artillery is the answer to a dug-in enemy. When a faction builds hard around the Zone with fortifications and FOBs, direct assaults bleed. The SPH-2 lets you break those positions apart from standoff range instead.
Using it well
- Fire from safety. The whole point is range. Set up far from the front, behind cover, and let your gun do the walking.
- Work with spotters. You are most effective when squadmates on the Zone call targets and correct your fall of shot.
- Prioritise structures and clusters. Artillery shines against FOBs and grouped defenders, not lone infantry.
- Reposition. Once the enemy works out where you are firing from, move.
Pair it with a spotter on comms. Roll with a squad that calls fire.
How do you unlock artillery in WARDOGS?
Artillery unlocks around Career level 90, meaning your overall Wardog Level rather than a single track. It is a long-haul unlock.
