WARDOGS Helicopter Guide: Little Bird, HAVOC and Transports
Flying in WARDOGS: the Little Bird, the HAVOC gunship, troop transports, and how not to get swatted by anti-air.
Helicopters move squads fast and rain fire from angles infantry cannot answer. They also fall out of the sky the moment the enemy brings anti-air. Fly smart. Flying levels the Pilot track.
The birds
- MH-6 Little Bird is light, fast, and cheap. Great for a quick insertion, and the minigun gunship variant adds close support.
- UH-1Y and Z20 Lakota are troop transports for dropping a whole squad on the Zone in one go.
- HAVOC is the heavy attack helicopter, the top of the gunship range, and priced to match. It is a Zone-breaker in the right hands.
How to fly and survive
- Scout for anti-air first. A single Flakpanzer Gepard ends your flight. If they have AA, stay low, break line of sight, or wait until it is dealt with.
- Use terrain. Pop up, fire, drop back behind a ridge. Do not hover in the open.
- Transport is undervalued. Getting five players to the Zone thirty seconds early wins more than a solo gun run.
- Do not overspend. A HAVOC you lose to AA is a lot of cash gone. Fly what you can afford to replace.
Plan drop points on TacMap, and find a squad to fly with.
