Rain
Season 2 weather preset. Thunder masks footsteps.
Rain is the weather preset added in Season 2. Surfaces, vehicles and players turn visibly wet as it falls, and it sounds different depending on where you are standing: under cover, indoors, inside a vehicle, or out in the open. Destroy a roof and the rain starts coming through it.
Thunder and stealth
In heavier rain, thunder rolls in. Every player on the server hears the same strike at the same moment, from the same direction, and it is loud enough to mask footsteps, so it can be used to cover a move. Rain also shortens how far you can spot enemies, and it weakens Molotov fire. Learn to read the weather and use it.
